Fly to Cities

Budapest is the tenth largest city of European Union. It has been ranked among the top 5 beautiful cities in Europe. It attracts close to 4.5 million tourists every year and has become even popular with every passing year. Quite like Prague, Budapest is a walkable city, in the sense that most popular tourist sights are within walking distance of each other. 3 days is enough to enjoy the fascinating sights of the city

 Day 1

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is synonymous with Budapest and is the European equivalent of Brooklyn Bridge in the US. Walk along the Chain Bridge and also check out Shoes on the Danube Bank.  This is a memorial to the people who were killed by military personnel belonging to the fascist Arrow Cross during Second World War.

A 7-minute walk from Shoes on the Danube River brings you to the Hungarian Parliament Building, the most prominent landmark in Hungary. You can also take a guided tour inside the parliament.

A 15-minute walk from Shoes on the Danube brings you to the St. Stephen’s Basilica. During Christmas week and on special occasions, you may even get to see laser displays on the cathedral walls in the evening.

Day 2

Head to the beautiful, regal thermal bath called Széchenyi thermal bath – it is the largest therapeutic thermal bath in Europe. No visit to Budapest is complete without a visit to thermal bath – you can visit anyone, Gellert, Rudas, Kiraly but Széchenyi thermal bath is not only the biggest but also close to many other prominent tourist locations in Budapest.

A 5-minute walk from this place takes you to Vajdahunyad Castle, known to be the home of Count Dracula.  A 7-minute walk from this place takes you to City Park Ice Rink, known for its huge skating ground. A1-minute walk from this place takes you the most prominent square in Budapest – The Heroes Square, which includes the Millennium Memorial and Museum of Fine Arts.

 Day 3

On Day 3, visit the Buda castle. You can take a funicular ride up to the Castle Hill.  This World Heritage site is a must visit as is the Fisherman’s Bastion, which is a 13-minute walk from the place.

The Fisherman’s Bastion is the most photogenic and camera-friendly place in the whole of Hungary. You can take fascinating pictures of the Chain Bridge, Danube River and other glorious sights from atop the Bastion. A short walk away lies Mathias Church, a Roman-Catholic Church built in 2015. The Fisherman’s Bastion also has an in-house restaurant and Starbucks inside.
