• Wow Air – For $99, it offers transatlantic flights with a stopover at Reykjavik hub. The stopover is marketed as a fun add-on for travelers.

• Air Asia X – It is the first low-cost Asian airline to fly to the US, with a new route that goes across Kuala Lumpur,  Osaka (Japan) and Honolulu. Air Asia X is optimistic about rolling in more Asia-US flights.  There are major plans to fly to Europe with its Airbus A330 to make use of the growing demands for flights to Europe.

• La Compagnie: La Compagnie flies between Paris and Newark, offering a single-class cabin with 74 near-lie-flat seats and complimentary French wine—at a price that is substantially lower than the typical business-class airfare.

• Level: International Airlines Group, owner of British Airways and Spain’s Iberia airlines, floated Level, a Barcelona-based carrier that benefits from low airport taxes in Spain.
