Southern Californians have for a long time been immersed in thrilling experiences by things like Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, but the Knott’s Scary Farm is one that seems to take them by scares. If you want to get your heart pounding with unimaginable scares, then the Knott’s Scary Farm is the place to visit. It will give you a far much gripping experience than the Orange County’s Mickey’s Halloween Party that is experienced at Disneyland. In 1973, Knott’s Berry Farm established the Halloween Haunt event, which was regarded as the first theme park haunt event in the world. It became the largest Halloween event within Southern California because of its popularity, and it has continued to bring nightmares to life for the people of Southern California.
Whenever you are in the farm, you can’t hide the terror, there is nowhere to escape. You just have to face the experience as terror creeps within every corner and street. The Ghost Town scare zone in Knott’s Scary Farm gives you all you would imagine in the world of scares. In 2018, the scary farm introduced the Forsaken Lake, which gives you another scare zone to explore underneath Silver Bullet’s baleful depths. There will be gothic creatures around Forsaken Lake and if you don’t watch out, you will easily get pulled into the watery graves.
An amazing thing about the scary zones is that they are limply defined and located in various parts of the streets. Whenever you walk around the streets, you will remain disoriented since you are not sure where and when a creature will creep around next to you or just slide out at your side with sparks, scrapes, and shrieks. You could be looking at a monster you have seen in front, never knowing that behind you another one has sneaked out and is grunting in your ear. All this sends you jumping in panic.
The Scary Farm event comes with separate tickets and it runs from September 20 to October 31. The event is hosted in 25 select nights and runs from evening to past midnight, specifically 7:00 pm to 1:00 am on selected days which are Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Visitors can also access the park that opens on Friday through Sunday from 7:00 pm TO 2:00 am.
The crowds tend to be lesser during earlier days of the season and on the days when the Scary Farm event is hosted, that’s Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. You may want to get yourself a map, which is available at the entrance to have more information about the scare zones, show times, and maze locations.
