London City Pass – Is it worth it?

The London City Pass is a great way to enjoy a hassle-free tour of the attractions in London. It is a type of prepackaged pass that offers free and discounted access to many specific tourist attractions for a fixed price. The pass is thus great for travelers who already know what they desire to do whilst in London. Most of the items included in this minimalistic discount card are often the things that tourists generally want to do.

The bundling of all the major attractions into a pass helps save money. There is also an additional discount of 20 percent on other major hot spots. The savings are thus quite substantial with the London City Pass.

All you need to do is show the pass at different attractions included in the pass and get ‘skip the line’ entry. You thus end up saving lots of time waiting in a queue; it may be noted that the London Eye and Madame Tussauds especially have long waiting times. London City Pass holders can also enjoy the amazing sights and sounds of the metropolis via the free 24-hour HOHO (hop on hop off) bus tour. A pick-up service from the London airports to the center of the city is also included. To all these advantages, you can add the 20 percent discount that you can avail of at different museums, rides, excursions, and other London attractions. Tourists thus end up saving both money and time.

The London City Pass is ideal for those travelers who want to see some pre-planned London attractions and desire the ease of having the pass before arriving in the city. It is also perfect for those who want to check out the attractions in their own time without having to worry about the expiration date of the pass. This is because, unlike most other city passes, the London City Pass does not come with a time restriction of 24 hours, 48 hours, or 72 hours. You can thus set your own pace and enjoy the attractions as and when you desire during your time in London.

Fast track entries to different London attractions

With the London City Pass you do not need to waste time standing in long queues; instead you can just skip the line and straight into all the major attractions included in the pass, such as the London Eye, etc. Show the valid city pass and get a fast track entry. The London City Pass has an optional choice of skip the line entry into the Westminster Abbey which you can select at the time of buying the pass.

Different discounts

Free entry to the Buckingham Palace and London Eye is included in the pass. The 24-hour HOHO bus tour is also free. Additional the pass includes discounts on visits to varied sites like Madame Tussauds, and Tower of London, etc., as well as considerable savings on excursions and tours to places like the Stonehenge, and Windsor Castle, etc. This is one of the reasons for the immense popularity of the card with travelers.

London City Pass and Public Transport

Public transport is not included in the London City Pass. It should not be considered as a disadvantage as the public transit system in London is frequent and rapid. Public transport tickets can be bought at any underground station or at the airport. However, the HOHO bus tour of London and the pickup service from airports is included in the pass.
