Seychelles – The Pearl of Africa!

Seychelles is one of the top tourist destinations on the planet. It is known for its isolated white sandy pristine beaches, picturesque islands, turquoise waters, luxury resorts, and lush landscape and peaks.

Seychelles – Best time to Visit

The island country has topical climate all year round. Hence, tourists can visit any time of the year. However, if you want to enjoy different activities then certain times of the year are better than other times. For example, sailing can be enjoyed all year round; best times for snorkeling are April to May and Oct to Nov; for diving March to May and Sep to Nov; for surfing from May to Sep; and from April to October for bird watching.

Some of best places to visit in Seychelles are listed below:

  • Mahe: It is the biggest inhabited island in the country. The local culture, food, and architecture have a distinctive Creole influence. The island has more than sixty gorgeous beaches and a mountainous terrain full of jungles and rainforests. Tourists can sunbathe on the beaches while gorging on delectable cuisines, tropical fruit juices, and other beverages. You may snorkel and get amazed by the colorful and diverse marine life or wander the tiny villages and towns and mix with the locals. Thrill seekers can go hiking and discover coves, waterfalls, caves, and bays and enjoy stunning views of the countryside from the top of the mountains.
    • Sainte Anne Marine National Park: It consists of a cluster of 6 islands located near Mahe coast. Tourists can enjoy serene sessions of scuba diving and snorkeling at the park. You can also check out the eclectic marine life thriving in the coral reefs at the park via glass-bottom boat tours.
    • Morne Seychellois National Park: It is located on Mahe and offers spectacular views of the surrounding waters and the remaining part of the island. The Park is home to the highest peak in Seychelles, dense mangrove forests, jungles, varied terrain, and eclectic vegetation. Walking trails are the only way to access the park. Nature lovers can take hiking tours or go for a walk, connect with mother earth, and enjoy a distraction-free immersive experience of the omnipresent natural beauty.\

  • Praslin: Seychelles’ second biggest island has a chilled-out, peaceful, and unassuming aura. The vast coastline has miles and miles of white sandy beaches, while the interiors feature varied terrain, lush vegetation, and dense forests. The Constance Lemuria hotel at Praslin has an 18-hole golf course which golf aficionados will love. The Anse Georgette and Anse Lazio, two of the best beaches in Praslin, are often featured in the many different best world beaches lists.
    • Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve: Regarded as a Garden of Eden replica on Earth, this extensive reserve is home to the most diverse, colorful, lush, and endemic species of fauna and flora such as splayed traveler’s palm, vanilla orchids, fruit pigeon, Seychelles bulbul, and black parrot. The World Heritage Site also has a natural palm forest which has remained just like it originally was centuries ago. The biggest seed in plant kingdom, i.e., the female pelvis shaped ‘Coco de Mer,’ is also found in this palm jungle. The best way to see the sights and sounds is via a hike along marked walking trails.
  • La Digue: Seychelles’ third biggest island is both secluded and intimate. It has isolated bays, inlets, gorgeous beaches, and a countryside adorned by rolling verdant hills with tall trees and dense forests. Tourists can use a private boat or take a ferry to come to La Digue. You can go cycling and explore the outdoors while enjoying the cool sunshine and soothing breeze that embrace this small pretty island.
    • Anse Source D’Argent: It is one of most gorgeous beaches in Seychelles and allegedly the most photographed one. It is situated on La Digue’s southern side. It is the perfect tropical beach paradise with clear azure waters, miles of white sands, and granite boulders chiseled into a work of art by time and nature.
  • Aldabra Island: It is a World Heritage Site and the biggest raised coral atoll on the planet. It has remained secluded from excess human influence. This has ensured that the native ecosystem has stayed intact. The island is made up of 4 coral islands that surround a lagoon. A variety of animal, bird, and marine species can be found in the atoll. You may be able to spot manta rays, tiger sharks, dimorphic egrets, giant land tortoises, white-throated flightless Aldabra rail, malagasy kestrel, and Aldabra sacred ibis.
  • Other places: Tourists who have the time may also visit other attractions in Seychelles such as Seychelles Natural History Museum located in Victoria; Cousine Island’s numerous exotic and endangered animal and bird species; Aride Island Nature Reserve; dugongs and millions of migratory birds on Bird Island; pirate graves, ancient ruins, and Giant Tortoises on Moyenne Island; and the mountainous Silhouette island and its abundant biodiversity.
