Berlin Welcome Card – Is it worth it?

The Berlin welcome card is a type of sightseeing card that helps save both money and time. It offers free public transport services in the city and the ticket can also include Potsdam, if you prefer.

The all inclusive ticket allows the opportunity to check out the top best attractions in Berlin, without the need to purchase individual tickets to these sights. You also have the option to choose from nearly 200 Berlin attractions. The Berlin welcome card also includes different tours, including hop-on hop-off bus tour, a city guidebook with a map, and discounts at different restaurants, theaters, and shops. Eventually, you can get savings of up to 50 percent!

How to use the Berlin welcome card?

The Berlin welcome card comes with a travel ticket, which allows free access to public transport services like rail and bus, and the welcome guide. It can be bought online, at sales outlets, or as a voucher or printed ticket that is mailed to you. The guide that is available along with the card is enough for a group of 4 people. Additional visitors will require another guide.

The guide and the Berlin welcome care need to be presented to be able to get the associated rebates and discounts at different attractions and shops, etc. The Berlin welcome card which includes Museum Island tour comes with 1-day free entry to all the museums (exclusive of special exhibitions) located on the Museum Island, during the validity period of the card.

The main advantage of the Berlin welcome card is the fact that unlike other cards, like the Berlin day ticket, the former offers a lot of flexibility. After printed tickets are validated by transport companies at specific machines, they stay valid for the purchased period of 48 hours, 72 hours, or 4, 5, or 6 days. Online tickets need not be validated before they are used. The validity on 4, 5, and 6 day Berlin welcome cards expires at 12 AM on the last day.
