Miami City Pass

Nick named the Little Cuba or the Magic City, Miami is well known for its nightlife, bars, and beaches.  A trip to this city can include plenty of these, but if you want to break from them and have something different, there are tons of things to see and fun attractions to explore.  If you were to visit most of the attractions, the cost can really ramp up.  Getting yourself a Pass can cut back the cost to help you explore what the city has to offer in a convenient and cost-effective way.  Miami has various tourist Passes that you can take advantage of.  The choice of the Pass to purchase will depend on various things including the kind of attractions you intend to visit, the combination of attractions, the cost of the Pass, the duration of the Pass among other things.  Among the popular Passes you can purchase are Go Miami Card, Miami Explorer Pass, the Miami Sightseeing Pass and Bus Tour Combination Tickets.  You can also build your own Pass courtesy of Smart Destinations.

Now, let’s examine each of these Passes and see which one aligns with your travel and sightseeing needs when you tour the Little Cuba.

  1. The Go Miami Card

A visit to Miami on a Go Miami Card allows you to save up to 55 percent off admission retail prices to more than 30 leading attractions and other activities like Hop-on Hop-Off Big Bus Miami.

How Does The Go Miami Card Work?

You can choose the durations to use the Card, there is 1,2,3, and 5-day Pass choices, but the Card remains valid for a period of two weeks.  The Card allows you skip the ticket queues in some attractions.

The all-inclusive Pass allows you sample your favorite attractions from a pool of over 30 activities, attractions, and tours.  For the duration you purchase the Pass, you can use it as much as you wish.  Probably, the only restrictions you may encounter are the hours during which the attractions are open.

Miami has great beaches, awesome nightlife, and ritzy bars and eateries.  Because many people don’t want to spend much time doing paid attractions, the beaches, bars, and pool come in handy for them.  However, the Go Miami Card offers visitors some relief when it comes to spending on attractions.  In addition to the free spots, visitors can spread their days to have the all-inclusive Pass take care of the paid attractions meaning they pay less.  The Go Miami Card is valid for a period of two weeks after you first activate it.  Because of extended validity of the Pass, a traveler doesn’t become a slave to the Card in their entire trip.  A visitor can spend days on the beautiful beaches, discover the nightlife of the Little Cuba, or nurse a hangover and save the Pass for some other day.

Go Miami Card employs a digital Pass technology that uses QR Code.  When you purchase the Card, the Code is sent in which you scan when at the attractions to have instant access.  You can print out the Code, Scan it, or Save it in the Go City App of Smart Destinations where it’s scanned directly from the smartphone.

A Look At Some of the Attractions, Tours, and Activities

Hop On Hop Off Big Bus Miami

You can use the Big Bus (Hop on-Hop off Bus) to discover the city. You will have a great view when you use the Open top buses. You can view the skylines and the unique vista of the city. Because the routes the Big Bus takes align well with many attractions featured in the Pass, you can combine the Big Bus tour with other attraction so that you have a  far-fetched taste of the Little Cuba.

A visitor only has one Big Bus tour in their trip and it doesn’t include the night tour. In the tour, you can access the beach loops and the city. You may want to consider the Big Bus tour as just another tour for the day and not just a means of transport. Taking the Hop on-Hop off bus allows you to kill two birds with one stone.  You are getting transport while also being able to explore attractions.

There may be an issue with how you catch the bus and the place you stay. Because the Big Bus departs from the Main Stop situated on Biscayne Avenue, it may not be convenient for you if you stay on South Beach. That being said, you are still allowed to board the Bus provided that you authenticate your Go Miami Card when you arrive at the Main Stop.  But again, this means you have to leave the Bus here something that may be inconveniencing if it was not part of your day’s plans. In the event that you have to leave the Bus at the Main Stop, there are still attractions you can explore including the Bay Front Park, which is a nice spot to tour.  You can also jump on the Jet Boat since it is found near the Main Stop.  The Big Bus tour cost $49.

Miami Seaquarium

A rival to Sea World, the Miami Seaquarium is a worthwhile attraction to visit, especially if you missed out Sea World.  The Park hosts many marine animals ranging from turtles, manatees, seals, dolphins, penguins, to rays. The Orca Show is the main attraction when you are in Miami Seaquarium. The gate price for Miami Seaquarium is $48.

Everglades Airboat Adventure Tour

Florida is known for airboats and if you are in Miami, you shouldn’t miss riding on one.  The tour allows you to feel the taste of the Everglades where you may see wild alligators. The Airboat tour includes pick up at the hotel you stay where you are taken out into the park to have a 30-minute airboat ride, jungle walkway, and alligator show.  It is likely that you can even see the wild alligators in wetter months when it’s hard to see them. Visitors that wish to use their own transport to get to the park can do so using other options included in the Go Miami Card. The price for the airboat ride is $58.

Jet Boat Miami

A 30-minute Jet Boat ride keeps your adrenaline flowing as you cruise past the homesteads of celebrities and millionaires at speeds clocking 45 mph. The cruise can perform tricks and spins, and if you are faint-hearted, it may not be your choice. You have to be prepared to bounce about and shake up a bit. If you enjoy the biggest roller coaster in parks, then you could do this speedboat ride. It will cost you about $33 for the ride and you have to book in advance.

Duck Tours South Beach

If you are looking for a much more relaxed way to explore the Bay, then the 90-minute Duck Tour from South Beach is a great option. Ducks are vehicles designed with amphibious theme and they were invented to be used for the World War II.  These vehicles ferry tourists on amphibious tours where they explore Miami from the sea and the land. You will see them cruising around the Little Cuba, so you can have the opportunity to board them and experience the duck tour. There are a lot of things to see when aboard the ducks including homes of famous and rich personalities in Miami, Florida. Again, you have to book in advance and the tour is priced at $39.

Jungle Island

Since Jungle Island was severely destroyed by Hurricane Irma, a huge renovation has been done. The Park lost some attractions, however, it introduced some few more. The aquatic obstacle course disappeared following the hurricane, however, there are still lots of things to explore including the Animal Shows and Jungle Island pop-up water park. If you decide to do indoor Skydiving at Jungle Island, you will have to pay a fee. The price for visiting the park is $59, but with your Go Miami Card, it is much cheaper.

Kennedy Space Center

You cannot afford to miss Kennedy Space Center, which is among the most visited attractions in Florida. In this attraction, you will discover some of the greatest accomplishment of humankind. It costs about $53 to tour the Space Center. It is situated outside Miami, so if you plan to head out of town maybe for some few days to somewhere like Disney World, Orlando, then you can stop by the Kennedy Space Center.  However, if you will be staying in Miami for entire time of your trip, you can skip this attraction, unless you have to visit it.

When you have the Go Miami Card, you also enjoy additional discounts or special offers on things like dining, shopping, and other activities.  Just make sure that you spread the days so that you have the most of your experience.  You will save hundreds of dollars with the Card.

It allows you to get one flat price to cater for 3, 4, or 5 activities. Based on the attractions you select, you could save up to 40 percent off regular admission prices in the various attractions.
